Microsoft Azure
Public and hybrid cloud infrastructure
Microsoft Azure is our other primary public cloud platform, used for cloud migration, hosting and hybrid cloud architecture, alongside Microsoft's identity and security tools.
Part of our IT and digital services work.
Virtual Machines compute — pick by deployment size
Within Virtual Machines compute, here's roughly where each tier fits. Exact model and configuration are confirmed when you request a quote.
Small / dev-test
B-series burstable VMs
Low, steady baseline compute that can burst for occasional spikes — good for small apps and dev/test.
Enterprise / production
D and E-series VMs
General-purpose and memory-optimized VMs for steady production workloads.
Data center / hybrid
Azure Local (Azure Stack)
Microsoft-managed hybrid infrastructure that runs in your own data center.
Microsoft Azure product families we work with
Virtual server instances for production and development workloads.
- VM sizes for general-purpose, compute- or memory-heavy workloads
- Scales with demand instead of fixed hardware procurement
- Integrates with existing Microsoft identity and management tools
Best for: Businesses already on Microsoft infrastructure moving servers to the cloud.
Azure Storage
CloudBlob, file and disk storage for applications and backups.
- Blob storage for unstructured data, backups and archives
- File storage for shared drives accessible like a network share
- Disk storage attached directly to virtual machines
Best for: Businesses needing scalable storage without buying physical capacity.
Azure Arc hybrid cloud
HybridUnified management of on-premises and multicloud resources.
- Manages on-premises servers from the same console as Azure resources
- Extends Azure security and compliance policy to on-premises systems
- Supports a gradual, rather than forced, move to the cloud
Best for: Businesses keeping some infrastructure on-premises for now.
Entra and Defender identity and security
EnterpriseIdentity management and threat protection across cloud and on-premises.
- Single sign-on and identity management across Microsoft and other apps
- Threat protection extending across cloud and on-premises systems
- Pairs directly with existing Microsoft 365 deployments
Best for: Businesses already using Microsoft 365 wanting consistent identity security.
Why source Microsoft Azure through Tanrova Rise
- Architecture matched to your existing Microsoft 365 and Active Directory footprint.
- Hybrid designs that keep systems on-premises where that genuinely makes sense.
- Identity and security configured correctly from day one, not left on defaults.
Microsoft Azure — frequently asked questions
- We're already on Microsoft 365 — does that make Azure the obvious choice over AWS?
- It's a genuine factor in Azure's favor, since identity (Entra) and licensing often integrate more directly, but it isn't automatic — your actual workload requirements still matter. We'll size both where it's a close call.
- What is Azure Arc, and do we need it?
- It lets you manage on-premises servers from the same console as your Azure cloud resources — useful once you have a genuine hybrid footprint, not necessary if you're moving everything to the cloud outright.
- Can Azure replace our on-premises Active Directory?
- Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) can extend or eventually replace on-premises Active Directory, but most businesses run both together during a transition rather than cutting over in one step. We'll plan that transition with you.
