Aruba — frequently asked questions

Is Aruba the same company as HP?
Aruba is a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) company and operates as HPE's networking and wireless brand — separate from HP Inc., which makes laptops and printers (see our HP page for that line).
Do we need ClearPass if we already have a firewall?
A firewall controls traffic leaving your network; ClearPass controls who and what is allowed to join it in the first place. They solve different problems and are commonly deployed together, not as alternatives to each other.
How many access points does a typical office need?
It depends on square footage, wall construction and device density, not headcount alone — which is why we do a site survey rather than quoting off a floor-plan guess.
